The Drive
The first year of my injury, I found myself struggling to accomplish basic day to day tasks and no one I knew really understood what that felt like. At times I felt very depressed, scared, and questioned why GOD had allowed me to survive.
In search for answers on how I would continue living and supporting my 3 children, the LORD has put many others in my path with the same questions and fears. He shows me everyday that I have a purpose in life and that purpose is to serve him by helping others in need.
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
The Inspiration

Miguel Angel Elizondo, born June 22, 2006. C-Section birth at 7 months, died 45 minutes after birth. Clinical reason unknown.
"Our Heavenly Father chose to take him, and spare my life." ~Maggie Elizondo
For god so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him shall not parish, but have everlasting life.
~John 3:16
Always roll'n!~ C/6-7 Spinal Cord Injury survivor, and single mom of three, Margarita "Maggie"Elizondo is always on the go, helping others.
"No matter how tough my life has been, there are those who have it worse. I am so blessed to be alive, and know JESUS loves me no matter how bad I fall short."
During a horrible season in her life, Maggie made some terrible choices, which put her and her family in a life and death situation.
She was 7 months pregnant, and was shot in the neck. Unfortunately, her son, Miguel Angel, died 45 min. after a C-Section delivery. She was told that with all the blood loss, had she not been pregnant, she would not have survived.
She never got to meet her Angel but says, "I felt him in me and enjoyed every kick, bomb, and heart beat. So grateful for that experience, and him saving my life." (Miguel Angel's picture featured above.)
The man that shot her had broken in to her home at 2:00 a.m., after having killed her cousin, Jose Alvaro Davaos Pillado. She was just a witness in the middle of something terrible. (This is remains an open case.)
"Waking up two weeks after multiple surgeries, and finding out about all of my losses, I was and still am in total peace. Some days are bad, but that’s OK! Our LORD blessed me with a second chance in life, and I have vowed to serve him, besides laughing, cracking jokes, and watching others smile, that's my thing!"
Maggie has always enjoyed helping others, even before her injury, and had a background in work readiness and independent living skills for mentally disabled individuals. This coupled with her own injury, quickly turned her to drive of helping others to helping others with empathy.
In search of support for her family as she transitioned from hospital to home, with minimal mobility, she could not find the answers she was looking for. But one day our LORD spoke to her and she listened. Blessed with Life was brought to life in October 2008.
"No matter how hard life gets, know that with the love of JESUS you can move on peacefully! You may not be able to do it alone, so reach out! Because no matter where you are in life a hands up, a shoulder to lean on or someone to laugh with is awesome!"
